Gem Art (on Crystal Mica)
Oil Painting (on Stretched Canvas)
Precious Art for Affluent People
Dante Gems™ only uses 100% natural gemstones cultivated through 1000's of years by nature itself. NO artificial additives. NO lab grown man-made gems involved.
We use over 50 variety of precious and semi-precious gems to achieve the best natural colors and textures.
Affordable for Everyone
Nowadays, oil portrait paintings have become very cheap and lost their value and prestige.
An oil hand painted portrait is no longer considered a luxury gift. In fact, skilled painters in countries like China have made it possible to own a custom oil painting for under $100.
As our unique gem art does not use paints at all, the colors you see are indeed 100% NATURAL gemstone colors.
They will last for centuries with the same vibrant and brilliant appearance as when we first created the portrait for you (just avoid direct sunlight).
Fades & Darkens Over Time
Linseed oil (or walnut, sunflower, etc.) in oil paints causes pigments to inevitably darken and fade in color over time.
This is why all masterpieces you see in the museums are very dark.
Even when kept under the best conditions, paintings by famous artists like Leonardo Da Vinci still degrade.
Perfect for Bedrooms
Keep it in the dark as long as you like.
There is absolutely no harm to gemstones when you keep the artwork away from light sources for extended period of time... even for centuries!
Not suitable for bedrooms.
Oil paints will become darker when kept in the dark.
Pigments used in oil paintings require constant exposure to light to slow down the rate of fading and loss of colors.
Easy to Maintain
No hassles. No expenses involved.
No need to hire any professional for restoration since gem art is perfect for most indoor conditions.
Complicated to Preserve
Requires complex temperature and humidity control like in the museum environment.
You either need experience or have to pay experts to keep the artwork at its best condition.
Reduced Risks of cracking.
Gems and crystal mica base don't absorb moisture, thus they don't bend, expand or contract because of humidity change.
Best kept between 25 to 85% humidity.
Suitable for all urban humidity levels (ex. New York 56 to 72% and Los Angeles 65 to 79%).
Surface Cracks Easily
Oil paints vs. canvas expansion or contraction is very sensitive to moisture, like when it's under too humid or too dry room conditions.
Has to be kept at 40 to 55% humidity.
The normal humidity level in most cities in the world has to be controlled to avoid problems.
Freedom to hang the picture anywhere you want: Hallway, Guest or Family room, Master Bedroom, Home Office, Kitchen or Dinning room, Library, Ballroom, Lounge, Hotel Lobby, Company Boardroom...
Gem art can handle a wide range of temperature and humidity change.
Best kept between 50 to 95°F
(10 to 35°C)
Restricted, most likely, to the Living room because of strict temperature, humidity range and lighting requirements.
A too wide daily temperature fluctuation can cause fading, darkening and surface cracking.
Has to be kept at 65 to 75°F
(18 to 24°C)
It's impossible to find two exactly the same natural gemstones to replicate the original work.
Every single gem painting we create for you is truly One-of-a-kind! "A witness of the history"
Reproductions are common.
A skilled artist can make it impossible to tell the difference between the original and the replica work.
The collectible value of a new oil painting is hard to predict or protect in the future.

Hillary Clinton receiving a gem mosaic portrait gift
Until now, unless you owned an original multi-million dollar oil painting by big names such as Picasso, Monet or Van Gogh (even then it was hard to tell if it was real), you won't set yourself apart from other art owners.
The good news is... since Dante Gems™ only uses 100% natural precious and semiprecious gem stones to create a One-of-a-kind artwork for you, the price is inevitably driven to the prohibited level for most art enthusiasts.
Be the first to own this unique 21st century exclusive fine art while it still remains relatively unheard-of and new to most people!
Artist placing gems on crystal mica
Every single Dante Gems™ portrait is crafted with Love, because we are passionate about what we do.
From the gathering of materials, to processing and final artwork retouches, our artists meticulously hand-pick every single stone for the best texture and color to portray the subject at hand.
If traditional oil painters wait for days for the medium to dry so they can quickly add another layer of paints, our artists spend every single minute just to ensure the right crystals are selected, processed and placed precisely on the artwork.
Having things handmade is simply a good taste...
Having a special item crafted from Rare and Beautiful materials like ruby, emerald, sapphire, amethyst, crystal quartz, spinel, tourmaline, etc... and turn that into a creative work of art is, in a single word, Exquisite!
Dante Gems™ is the first website (and at the moment, the only place) where you can get a gemstone portrait made from photos online.
We have the most skilled and talented gem artists in the world, some with more than 10 years of professional experience making gemstone art.
